About Us
From New Zealand to the World
We’re on a mission to reshape how the world thinks about waste.
Built in New Zealand, WasteX™ is redefining what resource management looks like globally.
Born out of frustration with wasted resources in the construction industry, we set out to build a platform that gives companies total control without the spreadsheet sprawl.

Our Incredible Journey
The WasteX™ Journey
We’ve come a long way from our first whiteboard sketch to transforming how waste and resources are managed globally. Every step has been driven by one goal: making smarter, more sustainable resource management the new standard. Here’s how we got here.
2023
From a beer on Queen Street to reshaping an entire industry.
It all started with a casual catch-up between friends - a founder who had spent enough time on construction sites to know that the way we manage construction resources wasn’t just broken... it was being ignored. Over a beer on Queen Street, frustration turned into vision. That night, WasteXpert™ (parent company of WasteX™) was born - a smarter, simpler, more transparent way to manage materials, waste, and compliance. We weren’t setting out to build just another reporting tool. We wanted to rethink how the entire resource chain worked - from first delivery to final disposal. We saw the cost of inefficiencies. We heard the pain in reporting. And we knew the industry was ready for change - it just needed the right solution.
2023
Building the Foundation
That Queen Street moment became our north star. We mapped the mess of manual spreadsheets, site bins with no data, and compliance reports done too late to matter. The more we explored it, the more obvious it became: waste isn’t a byproduct - it’s a metric. And if you could track it, you could optimise everything.
Early 2023
Velocity $100K Challenge Winner
Out of hundreds of entries, WasteX™ was named the 2023 Velocity $100K Challenge winner— a proud moment that validated not just the technology, but the mission. Backed by the University of Auckland’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we proved our solution wasn’t just smart — it was scalable, impactful, and urgently needed.
Mid-2023
First Beta Launch
We hit the ground running. We spent hundreds of hours onsite with builders, site managers, and environmental officers - listening, testing, and iterating. We partnered with experts. We designed workflows from the ground up. And we built WasteX™ to be mobile-first, AI-powered, and actually useful in the real world.
Late 2024
Private Launch
We officially went live. Councils, builders and contractors onboarded. Site managers started spotting inefficiencies in real time. What once took spreadsheets, guesswork, and phone calls, now took a tap.
2025-Present
Continuous Innovation
We’re just getting started. In Q4 2025, we’ll be launching WasteX™ 2.0 - a major upgrade powered by AI. It brings predictive waste forecasting, real-time carbon dashboards, and automated ESG reporting. It’s faster, sharper, and built to scale — helping projects of any size run leaner, cleaner, and smarter from the ground up.
